Sonamarg and Gulmarg Tour Overview

This itinerary is designed with Srinagar as your base, allowing you to comfortably explore both Gulmarg and Sonamarg on separate days.

Cab Rates (Approximate): Cab rates can fluctuate based on the season, vehicle type, and current fuel prices. The rates provided are for a full-day round trip from Srinagar, including fuel and driver allowance.

Sonamarg and Gulmarg Tour Itinerary

Day 1

The Meadow of Flowers - Gulmarg

Morning:

Srinagar to Gulmarg: Your cab will pick you up from your hotel in Srinagar after an early breakfast. The drive to Gulmarg takes about 1.5 to 2 hours (around 50-60 km). The journey is incredibly scenic, passing through the beautiful town of Tangmarg and dense pine forests.

Afternoon:

Gulmarg Gondola Ride: Upon arrival in Gulmarg, proceed to the main attraction: the Gulmarg Gondola. It's one of the highest cable cars in the world and an absolute must-do.

Phase 1: Ride from the base to Kongdoori station.

Phase 2: Continue to Apharwat Peak (subject to weather and availability). The views from here are breathtaking.

Note: The Gondola ticket price is separate and not included in your cab fare.

Other Activities: Explore the picturesque meadows, take a pony ride, or visit the historic St. Mary's Church and the Gulmarg Golf Course. In winter, Gulmarg transforms into a skiing paradise.

Evening:

Return to Srinagar: After a full day of sightseeing, your cab will take you back to Srinagar.

Overnight Stay: Dinner and overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 2

The Meadow of Gold - Sonamarg & Departure

Morning:

Srinagar to Sonamarg: After breakfast, your cab will take you on a day trip to Sonamarg (the "Meadow of Gold"). The drive is a beautiful experience, following the Sind River and passing through the breathtaking Sindh Valley. The journey is approximately 2-2.5 hours (around 80 km).

Afternoon:

Thajiwas Glacier: Sonamarg is known for the stunning Thajiwas Glacier. From the main town, you will need to hire a local pony or a cab from the local taxi union to reach the glacier base.

Note: Your pre-booked cab from Srinagar cannot be used for local sightseeing in Sonamarg due to local regulations.

Local Cab/Pony Rates in Sonamarg: A trip to the Thajiwas Glacier and other local points will cost approximately ₹2,000 - ₹4,000 depending on the points you visit and the vehicle/pony type.

River Rafting: If you are visiting in the summer, you can also enjoy a thrilling river rafting experience on the Sind River.

Evening:

Departure: After your sightseeing, your main cab will transfer you to Srinagar Airport for your onward journey. Alternatively, you can stay in Srinagar for another night and depart the next day.
